Musk Says SpaceXAI Will Be Renamed SpaceXSI After Trump Backs ‘Super Intelligence’ Term
Forecast Trend Report by Period
Elon Musk, chief executive officer of SpaceX, said the company plans to rename its artificial intelligence unit from "SpaceXAI" to "SpaceXSI."
Reuters reported on October 4 that Musk wrote on X, "Yes, we will make that change," in response to a post asking whether SpaceXAI could be changed to SpaceXSI.
The comment came after US President Donald Trump argued that the term "super intelligence" should be used instead of "artificial intelligence."
In a speech at the United Nations General Assembly last month, Trump said future US government documents would use "super" in place of "artificial." He added that he hopes the same terminology will be adopted worldwide.
Musk did not disclose when the name change would take effect or provide further details.
