News - AUSSIES GRAB GOLD IN 2026 BOLL FIM SPEEDWAY WORLD CUP FINAL

Australia ended an epic 24-year wait for FIM Speedway World Cup gold after storming to a famous win in the 2026 BOLL FIM SWC Final – Warsaw at PGE Narodowy on Saturday.

In front of over 40,000 fans in Poland’s grandest arena, the Roos completed a unique double of world team titles as they followed up their 2025 FIM Speedway of Nations triumph in Torun on October 4.

World No.2 Brady Kurtz raced to second spot in heat 19 to seal the Aussies' first SWC gold medal since they topped the podium at British track Peterborough in 2002. The Roos triumphed on 38 points as Kurtz topped the score chart on 11.

It was also an historic night for Speedway GP icon Jason Doyle, who became the first rider in the sport’s history to complete the modern-day SGP, SWC and SON grand slam as he added to his 2017 Speedway GP World Championship and FIM Speedway of Nations gold medals from 2022 and 2025.

Denmark pipped hosts and 2023 SWC champions Poland to the silver medals on 30 points, with triple European champion Mikkel Michelsen leading their charge on 12, while the Poles finished on 29, with six-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik topping their score chart on 11.

Injury-hit Great Britain took fourth place on 23 points – 14 of them scored by in-form skipper Robert Lambert.
