India's Ministry of External Affairs has condemned the attack on the commercial vessel GFS Galaxy off the coast of Oman, describing the repeated attacks on commercial shipping in the Middle East as "deeply worrisome." MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that 10 of the 11 Indian crew members on board have been rescued, while one Indian national remains missing. India's Embassy in Oman is coordinating closely with local authorities as search and rescue operations continue. The MEA thanked Oman for its assistance and reiterated India's call for an immediate de-escalation of tensions in the region. The incident follows US strikes against Iran, with the US alleging that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked the Cyprus-flagged vessel while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
