Niagara police search for two suspects in fatal shooting incident

One man was shot and killed near Thorold Stone Road and Dorchester Road on Thursday night

Niagara Regional Police are searching for two suspects following a shooting that killed one man in Niagara Falls on Thursday night.

According to a press release, police responded to a residence on Thorold Stone Road near Dorchester Road around 8:50 p.m. on Thursday.

Investigators believe two suspects “attended the residence and shot the victim with a handgun,” the statement said. The individual was taken to hospital by emergency services, but did not survive.

Police said the homicide unit is now investigating the shooting, which is believed to have been targeted but the public should “exercise caution as the suspects and firearm are still outstanding.”

The police media release includes physical descriptions of the male and female suspects. The male is said to be 25-35 years old, 5’6”, with a skinny build and dark skin. He was wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and shoes, sunglasses and a red bandana.

The female is described as appearing 18-25 years old, with dark brown hair and brown eyes, and wearing baggy blue sweatpants with a grey hoodie and white shoes.

Police say the suspects parked near the residence and fled following the shooting in a newer-model white Nissan SUV, which may be a Rogue or similar model.

Businesses near Thorold Stone Road and Dorchester Road are urged to check their surveillance cameras and contact police if they notice a white Nissan SUV.
