NVIDIA plans minority investments in four French startups as European tech commitment nears €9 billion
NVIDIA, the US-based chipmaker behind the AI infrastructure buildout, has announced planned minority investments in four French startups: Doctolib, Entalpic, Genesis AI and Pigment.
These startups are striving to solve challenges across healthcare, materials discovery, physical AI and business planning. The US chipmaker has been deepening its commitment to building Europe’s artificial intelligence ecosystem. The announcement comes as NVIDIA’s total commitment to the European technology ecosystem reaches nearly €9 billion ($10 billion).
“[These investments] launch the artificial intelligence revolution in Europe,” said Jensen Huang, President and CEO of NVIDIA.
Huang revealed NVIDIA’s further investment in Europe’s AI ecosystem at a reception held at Place Vendôme in Paris, attended by French Economy Minister Roland Lescure and representatives from French technology companies.
The four new investments build on NVIDIA’s past investments, including Alice&Bob, Gradium, and Scintil Photonics. The four French startups backed by NVIDIA are innovating to solve challenges across healthcare, materials discovery, physical AI, and business planning.
Doctolib, a French HealthTech unicorn, builds agents that free up healthcare professionals to deliver better care, while providing patients with a digital health companion that improves access to care and supports preventive, continuous medicine. The company had earlier confirmed that NVIDIA agreed to buy a minority stake, without revealing the size or value.
Entalpic, a Paris-based startup, accelerates the engineering of advanced materials at the atomic scale. Its expertise lies in surfaces and interfaces for semiconductor manufacturing and next-generation electronics.
Genesis AI is a global robotics company developing general-purpose robots with frontier intelligence and capabilities through its foundational models, data collection systems, simulation infrastructure, and robot hardware. “We are excited that NVIDIA is a strategic investor in Genesis AI,” the company said in a statement.
Pigment, a Paris-based enterprise software company, is building a planning platform that helps businesses forecast performance, model scenarios and make decisions across finance, sales, workforce, and operations. In April 2024, the company announced a €133 million Series D funding round, led by ICONIQ Growth. It announced its €80 million Series C funding in June 2023.
The investments also underscore France’s rise as Europe’s leading hub for AI technology companies. The country has seen major progress in scaling AI companies, driven by the AI Action Summit in February 2025 and the Choose France Summits in 2025 and 2026, which brought major compute commitments to French soil.
NVIDIA says its open Nemotron models are in production across French organisations that require sovereign, trustworthy data, while French AI startup Mistral introduced, under private preview,e Mistral Large 4 with state-of-the-art open weight performance in cyber defence, manufacturing, finance, and multimodal tasks.
The ecosystem has gradually moved from ambition to application, and the four French startups can see immediate impact with other investors and potential partners thanks to NVIDIA’s backing.
NVIDIA’s GTC Berlin event will take place on 20–22 October, with Huang delivering a live keynote at the Tempodrom on 21 October.
