Particle6 plans first full
AI-first production studio Particle6 has announced plans to produce its first feature film, using a mix of AI and traditional filmmaking.
According to the company, Misaligned is “being designed from the ground up” as a hybrid production with directors, writers and editors working alongside AI specialists. The company added it intends to build AI training and mentorship into the production.
“Our work this year has proven something we suspected all along,” said Eline van der Velden, CEO and founder of Particle 6.
“AI can support premium narrative filmmaking, but only with substantial amounts of human craft, skill, judgement and time. That’s not a limitation of the technology. That’s the point. The filmmakers who thrive in the next decade will be the ones who bring decades of storytelling instinct to these new tools, and Misaligned is where we put that to work at feature scale.”
The film will star Particle6’s AI-generated ‘actress’ Tilly Norwood. According to the company, it has spent “months” experimenting with Tilly appearing in test scenes as well as a live experiment designed to explore whether AI workflows support premium narrative filmmaking.
