Rahul Gandhi, Kharge's 'Purification ritual' divisive conspiracy, political game: Nitin Nabin

Dehradun, Sep 10 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin has termed the Congress party's Haldwani Ramlila Ground Purification ritual controversy as a "divisive conspiracy" by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and politics played by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge. He also alleged that Congress leaders wanted to defame Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

In his scathing attack against the Congress party's allegation of purification ritual at Haldwani's Ramlila ground after party president Mallikarjun Kharge's rally carried out by the right wing workers, BJP National President Nitin Nabin called it a "divisive conspiracy" by Rahul Gandhi and Kharge. He alleged that Kharge attempted to play a political game in the guise of an allegation as to a purification ritual carried out by right-wing workers patronised by the state government. Addressing party's state Executive Committee meeting in Haldwani, Nabin described Uttarakhand as "party's land of ideological commitment."

Claiming the Uttarakhand Assembly poll outcome as a "forgone conclusion" in BJP's favour, Nabin asked the party state leaders that they must move on for 2029 General elections after a resounding victory in 2027 state elections. Nabin expressed that the saffron victory streak will not stop in Uttarakhand given the workers' capability and public trust on them. "Congress National President is engaged in political games and hatched a conspiracy to divide people on caste lines. Their divisive politics and intention can never demean sacred land of Uttarakhand. For us, lord Shiva resides in every particle of this land.

That is the belief we hold," claimed Nabin. BJP national president said, "They attempted to play political games, using the holy land to raise slogans favoring a particular religion disregarding the state's ethos. You wanted to play politics and attempted to bake your political bread on it. I view this as nothing short of a conspiracy." Questioning the Congress leaders' history, Nabin asked "What does your past say? What did you do to Sitaram Kesri? You have a history of insulting the dalit community members.

When Dr BR Ambedkar was defeated in the elections, Nehru Ji wrote a letter to Edwina Mountbatten, stating he succeeded in defeating BR Ambedkar in the election and it was a major victory for him." Continuing his charges, Nabin said "That has been your intent. You have insulted the leadership of a Dalit family's son, who wrote the Constitution and gave direction to the nation. Congress illtreated Babu Jagjivan Ram and threw him out of the party-that is your history." "Recently in Rajasthan, a dalit Congress leader was publicly beaten up. In Karnataka, home state of the party national president, PFI rioters set on fire and reduced the house of R Akhanda to ashes.

Yet the Congress leaders did not raise a single voice for their vote-bank politics and appeasement, leaving that dalit leader completely ignored. BJP national chief further said, "In Kerala, Congress workers assaulted a Dalit female public representative but Rahul Gandhi, despite his repeated sermons over the constitution, refrained from uttering a single word in favour of the female victim.

Those with their past rooted in hurling insults at Dalit community can never be thought of honouring them. The issues you raised are meant for exploitation of political mileage." "Sons and daughters of Valmiki community in Jammu and Kashmir has been forced to work only as sanitation workers even if they have postgraduate or doctorate degrees during Congress' long rule with Article 370 in force. This is nothing but the legacy of the Congress government" said Nitin Nabin on the first day of his two-day visit to Haldwani to head party's state core committee meeting.
