RCMP issue warning about dangerous man with weapon in Lunenburg County
A civil emergency alert advises residents to lock doors and not pick up hitchhikers
Nova Scotia RCMP are advising residents in Lunenburg County to stay in a safe location, lock their doors and not pick up hitchhikers.
Police sent a civil emergency alert around 6 p.m. AT on Wednesday that warned of a dangerous man with a weapon around Highway 210 and Old Chelsea Road in Chelsea, N.S.
The suspect is a man in his 30s, height around six feet with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a brown bandana and pants, a grey shirt and black satchel.
"The public can expect to see an increased police presence as officers investigate.," the Nova Scotia RCMP said in a Facebook post about the situation.
Anyone with information can share directly with the Lunenburg District RCMP at 902-527-5555 or 911 in an emergency.
