Sanderson, Chabot to make their preseason debut for Senators

That sigh of relief you heard across the city late Saturday afternoon came from the Canadian Tire Centre.

As the Ottawa Senators prepared to close out the National Hockey League preseason schedule with one game at home against the Canadiens and another on the road at the Bell Centre in Montreal, head coach Travis Green confirmed that top defenceman Jake Sanderson would suit up.

Sanderson, who was seen signing autographs at the Kraft Hockeyville Game against the Habs in Trois-Rivières last Monday, made his exhibition debut.

Defenceman Thomas Chabot, who missed the first two exhibition games because his wife, Marion, was scheduled to give birth to the couple's first child any day, was also expected to suit up.

Third-line centre Shane Pinto missed his second straight practice on Friday, though, and he wasn't expected to play in either game on Saturday.
