Scared of artificial intelligence? Don't worry, here's 'very stable genius' Donald Trump to the rescue!

Amid all the doomsters and gloomsters forecasting the end of humanity at the hands of artificial intelligence, a saviour has emerged: Donald J Trump. “The use of the word artificial makes it sound fake. It's not fake, it's actually amazing... Welcome to the new world of super intelligence – SI,” he said. All it needed was a rebrand. Phew.

To be fair, the US President did also say “we have to be careful”, which perhaps provides a degree of hope to those who worry about these things that his opposition to government regulation of AI, sorry SI, may not be quite as firm as it has sometimes appeared. At least it might just be the starting point for a conversation.

However, the real wonder is how Trump, who once declared himself to be a “very stable genius”, managed to avoid calling it “Trump Intelligence”.

Now there’s a business opportunity for an up-and-coming tech bro who wants to win favour with the world’s most powerful man. After Trump University, Trump Steaks and Trump Vodka, this really could be the big one.
