Scott Bright: “The 6DAYS® has become a family tradition”

The 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations is special because it brings professional and amateur riders together to race at the same time. There are very few sporting events like it.

For the United States’ Scott Bright, the 6DAYS® has become a family tradition and is something he looks forward to each year.

After racing it four times himself, his son, Chase, is now competing in his third 6DAYS® in Portugal.

“I’m here to support my son, Chase, who is competing in the Club Team Award category,” says Bright.

“This is his third time competing in the 6DAYS® and I’ve raced it myself four times, so this race has definitely become a family tradition for us.”

Although one of the powerhouse nations in the World Trophy categories, the United States are driven by a strong contingent of volunteers who ensure every rider, World Trophy and Club Team Award, receives as much help as possible to see the race through.

For Bright, supporting his son is top priority, but he is happily busy sharing the workload each day.

“During the race it’s definitely a group effort to help out all of our riders,” he comments.

“Today, I’m working as a time control captain, so I need to make sure all of the riders on my watch keep to their schedule and don’t lose time in the service points. Tomorrow, I’m sure I’ll be doing something different, which is nice.

“From a Club Team Award perspective, it’s important to be here, too. I feel it helps grow the visibility of the enduro back home.

“There are a lot of fans watching from the United States. We don’t have this style of racing, so it is intriguing to them to learn how the rest of the world does enduro.”
