Smith wants Canada to double down on diplomacy

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she wants to see Canada avoid escalating the trade war with the United States, saying she doesn't think Canada could win by taxing or curtailing energy exports to the U.S. Instead, Smith is calling for tax reforms to support business investment, the removal of provincial trade barriers, and federal approval to start building a new oil pipeline to the West Coast as soon as possible.
