“Starting a Business is a Series of Trial and Error”… Gyeongnam Innovation Center Hosts Lecture by Senior Entrepreneurs for ‘Startups for Everyone’
What aspiring entrepreneurs need most is realistic advice derived from actual business experience. There is also a steadily rising demand for field-oriented programs that share not only success stories but also the processes of failure and trial and error.
The Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center announced that it held an "Insight Lecture by Senior Entrepreneurs for Everyone" at the Grand Mercure Ambassador Changwon on the 4th. This event was organized as part of the "Insight for Everyone" project and focused on sharing the experiences and know-how of senior entrepreneurs with prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs, as well as providing practical insights into business commercialization.
Approximately 100 prospective and established entrepreneurs interested in starting a business attended the event. The program proceeded in the order of special lectures by senior entrepreneurs, business introductions, on-site mentoring, and networking. During the special lecture, Kim Dong-hyuk, CEO of ICU Corporation, shared his experiences of trial and error and growth during the early stages of his startup under the theme "From Idea to Startup: Growth Stories of Senior Entrepreneurs." Following this, Kim Sang-hee, CEO of the local food brand Geochang Hankooksu, shared her business commercialization experiences and case studies on brand building utilizing local resources under the theme "Contentization Strategies for Local Food."
The participants spent time refining business ideas and contemplating growth strategies while listening to the problems encountered and solutions found in the actual startup process.
The event also included an introduction to the 'Startups for All' program and guidance on its operational direction. Participants were able to obtain information regarding future support programs, participation methods, and the startup support system. In particular, the on-site mentoring sessions with lead mentors in each field received a great response. Participants were able to receive direct consultations and practical advice regarding the difficulties encountered during the commercialization process and growth strategies.
The Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center plans to continue supporting the growth of local entrepreneurs and striving to revitalize the startup ecosystem through education, mentoring, and networking programs.
Noh Chung-sik, CEO of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “I hope the experience and know-how of senior entrepreneurs have been of practical help to prospective entrepreneurs preparing to start a business,” adding, “We will continue to contribute to the revitalization of the local startup ecosystem by operating various education and mentoring programs to help entrepreneurs grow sustainably.”
