Tech Mahindra & Infinite Uptime Join Hands On Physical AI
The partnership targets physical AI adoption across manufacturing and process industries in North America and Europe
Tech Mahindra has partnered with industrial technology company Infinite Uptime to accelerate the adoption of physical AI across manufacturing and process industries. The collaboration combines Infinite Uptime’s PlantOS industrial intelligence platform with Tech Mahindra’s manufacturing expertise, global reach and information technology-operational technology (IT-OT) transformation capabilities.
The partnership will initially target industries including steel, cement, chemicals, metals and mining, and pulp and paper across North America and Europe. The companies will focus on integrating industrial intelligence into plant workflows to support data-led operational decisions.
Targeting Industrial Operations
The collaboration is aimed at helping manufacturers move from predictive insights towards actions within plant operations. By connecting industrial intelligence with existing workflows, the companies intend to support faster responses to equipment and operational issues.
The focus will include areas such as equipment reliability, productivity and operational resilience across manufacturing environments where unplanned downtime can affect production and costs.
Infinite Uptime will bring its PlantOS platform, which uses industrial data to provide intelligence around plant operations. Tech Mahindra will contribute manufacturing domain expertise and capabilities across IT-OT transformation.
The combination is intended to address the integration of plant-level operational data with enterprise technology systems. This can allow manufacturers to connect equipment information with broader operational processes and decision-making.
Infinite Uptime said its deployments have delivered more than 167,837 hours of operator-validated downtime savings across more than 1,000 plants.
The company said its technology has been deployed across 172 customers, nine industrial verticals and 28 countries. These figures represent deployment data provided by Infinite Uptime and cover its existing customer base across multiple industrial markets.
The partnership comes as manufacturers explore applications that connect AI-based intelligence with physical industrial environments. Unlike software applications focused primarily on information processing, physical AI can be applied to equipment, processes and operating environments.
For the two companies, the initial geographic focus on North America and Europe and the emphasis on industrial sectors provide the scope for applying these technologies to manufacturing and process operations.
The partnership will therefore centre on connecting industrial intelligence with plant workflows, with equipment performance and operational continuity forming key areas of focus.
