The salary information and projected job outlook in the table above are based on the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

FlexJobs reviewed more than 60 career categories to identify the 15 fastest-growing fields for fully remote jobs between January and December 2025. Among those 60 career categories, banking ranked #5.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, actuaries use mathematics, statistics and financial theory to analyze the economic costs of risk and uncertainty. Most actuaries work for insurance companies. To become an actuary, you’ll typically need a bachelor’s degree as well as additional certifications. However, if you have a strong background in mathematics, statistics and business, this could be an excellent remote job to pursue.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, financial managers create financial reports, manage investments and develop plans for a company’s long-term financial goals. You’ll typically need a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in a related role. Similar job titles include accountant, account manager and financial analyst.

Computer and Information Technology

Over the last year, FlexJobs found that work-from-anywhere opportunities were most common in the field of computers and information technology. A study at the University of Chicago also found that more than 50% of jobs in this industry can be performed from home.

Computer and Information Systems Scientists and Managers

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Computer and information systems managers plan, coordinate and direct computer-related activities. Computer and information research scientists may focus on designing innovative uses for new and existing computing technology. Similar roles in the same field include information security analysts and AI engineers.

Indeed lists “data scientist” as the third best job for remote workers, while FlexJobs found that “data analyst” was #5 among job titles with the most work-from-anywhere jobs over the last year.

FlexJobs found that “software engineer” was the job title with the most work-from-anywhere jobs posted over the last year. Indeed lists “software developer” as #7 among the best jobs for remote workers. Software developers and engineers work to design computer applications and programs. You’ll find that many of the jobs require the same skills, though experience requirements will vary based on the position you’re applying for.

FlexJobs found that among 60 career categories, mental health and nursing both ranked in the top 10 fastest-growing remote careers in 2026. Plus, the projected job growth for healthcare workers is nearly always on the rise.

“Nurse Practitioner” still holds the #1 spot on Indeed’s list of the best jobs for remote workers. Nursing was also the 10th top category in FlexJobs’ list of the fastest-growing remote jobs in 2026. Remote work for a nurse practitioner typically includes telehealth services, such as virtual patient visits, reviewing labs and updating electronic health records.

Substance Abuse, Behavioral Disorder and Mental Health Counselors

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, counselors in these fields advise people on a range of issues, such as those relating to alcoholism, addictions or depression. FlexJobs found that mental health jobs ranked #7 among the fastest-growing remote careers this year.

Administration, Marketing and Sales

FlexJobs found that “Administrative” and “Sales” were the second and third-fastest-growing remote career fields in 2025. Among all industries, marketing, operations and sales each earned a spot in the top 10 work-from-anywhere jobs.

Marketing Manager or Market Research Analyst

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, marketing managers and marketing research analysts work together to understand a business’s key demographics. Then, they develop programs to generate interest in products or services. “Market research analyst” earned a spot on Indeed’s list of the 15 best jobs for remote workers. Job titles in related fields include management analysts and social media managers.

Project management specialists are in charge of the budget, schedules and other details of projects. They may be required to communicate with clients, determine a project’s requirements and objectives, develop project plans, select vendors or consultants, assign responsibilities, monitor costs and milestones, and more. Project management earned the #2 position on FlexJobs’ list of the top 10 industries with the most work-from-anywhere jobs. “Project Manager” also earned a spot among the top 10 remote job titles.

Sales Development Representative or Manager

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, sales managers plan, direct and coordinate the delivery of a product or service to customers. FlexJobs found that “sales” continued to offer meaningful work-from-anywhere opportunities throughout the last year with “Sales Development Representative” earning a place among the top 10 job titles for remote work.
