‘The Gunfighter’: RXM Entertainment Vigilante Movie Sets Patrick Perez Vidauri To Direct

EXCLUSIVE: Patrick Perez Vidauri will direct the RXM Entertainment action movie, The Gunfighter.

Written by Tom Jenkins, The Gunfighter follows Johnny Bandit, a philosophy student by day and a mysterious masked vigilante by night. As his relentless pursuit of justice ignites fear, admiration, and controversy throughout the city, law enforcement races to uncover the man behind the mask while the public becomes divided over whether he is a dangerous outlaw or the hero the system has failed to be.

We hear that the project’s development has also benefited from the guidance of producer Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Total Recall producer Mario Kassar. Jenkins also produces with Malek Hanna.

The Gunfighter also includes Emmy-nominated actress Vannessa Vasquez (National Treasure: Edge of History, East Los High), who serves as a consulting producer.

“What immediately drew me to The Gunfighter was the emotional complexity beneath the action,” said Vidauri (Say a Little Prayer, Townhouse Confidential, Divorce Bait).

“Every major character believes they’re fighting for what’s right, even when they’re standing on opposite sides. That emotional truth, combined with the film’s action, humor, and adventure, is what makes this such an exciting story to bring to life,” he adds.

“The Gunfighter is more than an action film,” said producer Hanna. “It’s a character-driven adventure that explores the timeless struggle between justice and vengeance while delivering the kind of humor, heart, and cinematic excitement audiences have always loved. Our goal is to create a film that’s both commercially entertaining and emotionally meaningful.”

Casting is being led by Justin Nesbitt, who recently served as an executive producer on The Leader, starring Vera Farmiga and Tim Blake Nelson, which premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Festival. VFX will be led by 2x Oscar nominee and 2x BAFTA Award winner Habib Zargarpour (Perfect Storm, Twister) and his team.

20th Century Studios has another production under the title The Gunfighter in development based on the Gregory Peck 1950 western.
