Three-Day AI Foundations Bootcamp Equips Leh Students with Essential Artificial Intelligence Skills. Leh, September 30, 2026: A three-day AI Foundations Bootcamp for students of Classes 8th to 12th was successfully conducted at the NIELIT Auditorium, Leh, under the initiative of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with the implementing partner IBM–1M1B Foundations and organizing partner District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh. The programme brought together around 80 students from various Government Schools across Leh District, providing them with an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI), understand emerging generative AI technologies, and learn how these tools can be leveraged responsibly for academic and personal development. The training sessions were conducted by Mr. Anip Sharma, Senior Trainer, 1M1B, and Mr. Lakshya, Youth Trainer, 1M1B, who designed and delivered an engaging and student-centric module tailored to the learning needs of school students. The sessions introduced participants to essential AI concepts and components, while also providing practical exposure to Generative AI technologies and their potential applications in education. The bootcamp focused on facilitating advanced learning techniques and digital skills that can support students in their academic growth. Through interactive sessions and activities, the students were encouraged to understand AI not only as an emerging technology but also as a tool that can be used creatively, responsibly, and effectively in their learning journey. During the programme, Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director Skill Education, CBSE and Additional Director Mr. R. P. Singh, Skill Education, CBSE also visited the venue and interacted with the participating students. They appreciated the efforts being made to introduce young learners to emerging technologies and shared encouraging words with the students, motivating them to continue developing their knowledge and skills in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The three-day bootcamp concluded on September 30, 2026, with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Mirza Mehdi, HoD, DIET, Leh. He expressed appreciation to CBSE, IBM–1M1B Foundations, the resource persons, participating schools, and all those involved in successfully conducting the programme. The initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening AI awareness, digital literacy, and future-ready skills among school students in Leh District, while creating opportunities for young learners to engage with emerging technologies and apply them meaningfully in their education.
