Tornado warning issued for part of Alberta’s Yellowhead County
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued warning just before 6 p.m.
A tornado warning was issued for part of Yellowhead County in central Alberta on Friday afternoon.
At 5:54 p.m., Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a warning for areas near the communities of Cadomin and Robb.
“Meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado,” the weather agency said in an Alberta Emergency Alert. “Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
“Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Wolf Lake, Cynthia, Brazeau Dam, Cadomin, Robb and Chungo Creek.”
ECCC said people should take cover immediately if severe weather approaches.
