Trans-Canada Highway closed south of Clarenville due to serious crash: RCMP
No detours available, long delays expected as police ask travellers to avoid the area
The RCMP has closed a section of the Trans-Canada Highway in both directions near Route 205 — south of Clarenville — due to what police are calling a serious motor vehicle collision.
The crash happened near Hillview and emergency responders are responding.
The RCMP says there are no detours available in the area and the highway remains impassable for "an undetermined period."
"Motorists are asked to avoid the area and delay travel plans," an RCMP news release reads.
The RCMP says further updates will be shared as they become available.
