Trump announces ban on some imports from Canada
The United States says it will ban some imports from Canada, including motorcycles, alcoholic drinks and dairy products.
President Donald Trump signed proclamations to that effect on Tuesday.
He said the ban will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on September 29, US Eastern Time.
Washington says the latest measure is in response to Canada's "discrimination" against US automobiles, alcoholic beverages and dairy products, among other items.
The US imposed additional tariffs of 50 percent on certain products from Canada on August 22. It says it will also review which items are subject to them.
Canada began levying tariffs of up to 50 percent on certain US imports on Tuesday to counter the earlier US measures.
