Trump vows tariffs to come for Canada over wildfire smoke that has drifted to U.S.

'We're going to put a big tariff on Canada because of the smoke,' Trump tells reporters

U.S. President ‌Donald ​Trump on Friday ​vowed tariffs ​on Canada in ‌retaliation for smoke from wildfires that ‌has drifted ​into the United States.

"We're going to put a big tariff on Canada because of the smoke," Trump told reporters, when speaking in the Oval Office at the White House on Friday afternoon.

He did not provide details on what that would involve.

The U.S. president had previously threatened to increase tariffs on Canada for smoke emanating from wildfires on this side of the border.
