UK startup Pharosyn raises €2.5 million for pharma competitive intelligence platform
London-based Pharosyn, which builds AI infrastructure for commercial decision-making in pharma, has raised €2.5 million to expand its platform and support wider adoption across pharmaceutical commercial and portfolio strategy teams.
The round was led by Moonfire, including investments from Entrepreneurs First, Transpose Platform and General Advance.
“Today, I am pretty proud of our product but the scope for improvement is huge. I know I will look back on it in 6 months and be almost embarrassed – the same way that I look back on earlier in the year – that’s the joy of building super quickly as the tech changes constantly all around us,” said co-founder Joshua Hampson in a public statement.
Pharosyn’s raise sits amid notable 2026 investment in AI and data infrastructure serving pharmaceutical and biotech teams.
EU-Startups has reported approximately €75.3 million across seven comparable or adjacent rounds this year, including London-based Sable Bio’s €3.15 million Seed round for AI-powered drug-safety intelligence and Helical’s €8.4 million Seed round for its virtual AI lab for pharma R&D, providing two same-country comparisons.
Other financings include Rivia’s €13 million Series A for clinical-trial data infrastructure and Biorce’s €43.8 million Series A for AI-driven clinical trials.
Mattias Ljungman, founder of Moonfire, says: “Pharosyn’s founders are deeply technical, exceptionally tenacious and ambitious, and determined to be best-in-class globally. They are rare founders who clearly stand out. We could not be more excited to lead this round.”
Founded in 2025, Pharosyn is an AI-powered competitive intelligence platform built for biopharma. Their offering monitors clinical, regulatory, and commercial data sources to produce strategic reports tailored to an organisation’s pipeline.
Pharosyn was founded by Stephen Cowley and Joshua Hampson, who brought Cambridge University backgrounds in AI research and biochemistry. The team also features engineering experience in deploying AI in financial forecasting and enterprise productivity, alongside decades of senior executive experience consulting in pharmaceutical commercial strategy at Citeline and leading consulting firms.
Pharosyn is built on two convictions: that pharmaceutical companies need custom AI infrastructure to maintain a competitive advantage, and that embedding this infrastructure deep inside pharma teams can improve commercial decision-making.
By increasing the depth of insight, scope of analysis and speed at which teams can work, Pharosyn looks to help companies make better decisions about where to allocate resources. Its infrastructure can be deployed across commercial strategy, portfolio strategy, business development & licensing, market research, forecasting and competitive intelligence.
Today, senior directors at top-10 pharmaceutical companies reportedly use Pharosyn to inform their strategic decisions.
