U.S. Embassy, alumni partners host AI for Startups bootcamps in three Nepali cities
KATHMANDU: The U.S. Embassy Nepa and its alumni partners have successfully conducted “AI for Startups” bootcamps in Pokhara, Biratnagar, and Kathmandu, bringing together more than 20 Nepali startups to explore ways of leveraging U.S.-developed artificial intelligence technologies to boost business growth, innovation, and competitiveness.
The bootcamps were supported by the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) of the U.S. Embassy Nepal.
Led by U.S. government exchange alumni Rajina Shrestha and Aayush Shrestha, the Kathmandu edition of the bootcamp featured speakers and mentors from leading AI and digital innovation organizations in Nepal.
U.S. Embassy spokesperson Frank Sellin, delivering remarks at the programme, highlighted the role of American innovation, entrepreneurship, and exchange alumni networks in strengthening Nepal’s startup ecosystem.
He also noted that, as part of the Freedom 250 initiative, the programme showcased the United States’ legacy of innovation, entrepreneurship, and free enterprise while deepening future-oriented ties between Nepal and the United States.
According to organisers, the participants received hands-on training and mentorship, gaining practical experience with U.S.-origin AI tools, business strategies, and innovation-driven approaches aimed at scaling their ventures and competing in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
The initiative also aimed to strengthen connections between Nepal’s startup ecosystem and American expertise in technology, innovation, and business by reaching emerging entrepreneurial hubs across the country.
