VOO technology and brand up for auction

The core technology developed by now-defunct charter booking software specialist VOO is up for sale via private auction alongside its branding and trademark.

The silent auction, which opened two weeks ago and runs until 16th August, offers VOO’s software architecture, source code and international trademark.

This includes its B2B platform VOO Flights, a charter booking software featuring dynamic pricing, real-time auto-quoting and API integration with flight management systems; B2C product VOO Travel, a consumer-facing booking software; and full ownership of the internationally registered trademark “VOO effortless private jet booking”.

VOO ceased trading end of June 2025 (and filed for bankruptcy at the beginning of July 2025) after its lead investor pulled the plug following health issues and additional capital could not be sourced in time.

As per a press release issued by VOO’s former CEO Robert Plhak earlier this week: “The liquidation sale offers charter operators, aviation software providers and tech investors a turnkey opportunity to acquire market-tested, enterprise-grade charter automation IP without the years and multimillion-dollar expenditure required for in-house research and development.”

Speaking to CJI, Plhak said: “We truly believed we did it right. Yes, we were ahead of our time, and had the support of the industry – which I’m very grateful for – but not as much as we needed to make it. And yes, we made mistakes along the way.

“We made efforts to take the industry from where it is to what we thought is the future way of dealing with charter flights. But we were fighting with internal problems due to money issues after our investor got sick and stopped his investment.”

Plhak believes VOO’s instant booking capability, empty leg sales and optimisation feature and the API connected to its B2C platform could be of most value to any potential buyer.
