Watch Live: Arvind Kejriwal's Big Press Conference | AAP
More than 600 American troops have been killed or wounded since the United States launched its war against Iran on February 28, according to a Pentagon database update reported by CNN. The Defense Casualty Analysis System now records 18 service members killed and 624 wounded—a combined toll of at least 642. The update includes more than 140 wounded personnel absent from the previous count and restores four July deaths that temporarily disappeared from the official figures. Instead of placing every casualty under Operation Epic Fury, the Pentagon created a separate “Overseas Operations” category covering deaths and injuries recorded after the ceasefire collapsed on July 7. That category does not explicitly attribute every injury to Iran. Officials blame fluctuating figures on temporary data disruptions and say many involved comparatively minor injuries. The unusual accounting is nevertheless fuelling accusations that Washington is obscuring the conflict’s full human cost. Watch.
