Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) has curated a list of films to watch on Sept. 30.

The Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) has created a list of films in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which is Sept. 30.

Here are six of those films, and a link to the full list at the bottom.

At the Place of Ghosts (2025): Siblings Mise'l and Antle were close as children, but trauma from their upbringing has caused them to drift apart as adults. When they are both haunted by a malevolent spirit of bones and rot, the siblings are forced to reunite.

Slash/Back (2022): In Nunavut, four girls who like horror and alien movies, love their phones and even their poor elders who believe in shapeshifters because "they didn't have the internet" realize local disappearances are linked to a shapeshifting alien.

Night Raiders (2021): A mother joins an underground band of vigilantes to try to rescue her daughter from a state-run institution.

Edge of the Knife (2018): When a man accidentally causes the death of the son of his best friend, the man is racked by grief and runs off into the woods.

Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World (2017): A documentary about the role of Native Americans in popular music history.

Rhymes for Young Ghouls (2013): In 1976, a Mi'kmaq teenager plots revenge against the sadistic Indian agent who imprisoned her in a residential school where rape and abuse are common.
