What’s open and closed in Hamilton this Thanksgiving weekend
Many services and businesses will be closed for Thanksgiving Monday.
Thanksgiving is this Monday, and while most Canadians will be thankful for the three-day weekend, the extra day does disrupt the schedules of some services and businesses.
Here’s what’s open, closed or postponed this Thanksgiving weekend in Hamilton.
No garbage, green bins, recycling and yard waste pickup will take place on Monday. Pickup will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
Community recycling centres and transfer stations will be closed on Monday.
The HSR will run its Sunday schedule on Monday. The last buses will leave downtown at midnight.
There will be no Monday service on routes 12 Wentworth and 42 Mohawk East.
All DARTS subscription trips, except dialysis, are cancelled on Monday. Advanced booking is required for travel on Monday.
Major grocery stores will be closed Monday. Walmart and Costco will also be closed Monday.
Select independent grocers and convenience stores may be open.
All Hamilton LCBO and Beer Store locations will be closed Monday.
Malls CF Lime Ridge and Eastgate Square will also be closed Monday.
All Hamilton Public Library locations will be closed on Sunday and Monday. The bookmobile, extended access and study hall services are also not available on Monday.
Recreation centres, arenas and senior centres will be closed.
Hamilton Farmers Market will be closed as per regular hours.
All Hamilton civic museums will be closed Monday.
The tropical greenhouse at Gage Park will be closed Monday.
Westfield Heritage Village is open from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
Hamilton’s municipal services centres at city hall will be closed on Monday.
The housing services office at 350 King St. E. will be closed Monday.
The Hamilton municipal parking system office and public health administration offices will be closed Monday.
The animal services office and shelter will be closed.
Alcohol, drug and gambling services will not be offered on Monday.
The child and adolescent service walk-in clinic will be closed Monday.
