Woman dies after hit-and-run in Mississauga: Peel police
Driver fled the scene in light coloured sedan, travelling eastbound on Eglinton Avenue
A woman in her 30s is dead after being struck by a driver in a vehicle in Mississauga early Sunday morning, said Peel police.
Emergency crews responded around 6:10 a.m. near Eglinton Avenue and Erin Mills Parkway, where they found a woman who had been hit by a vehicle, said Peel police on social media.
Peel paramedics said the woman was taken to a local hospital with critical, life threatening injuries. But she was later pronounced dead, said police.
They said the driver fled the scene, travelling eastbound on Eglinton Avenue from Erin Mills, in a light coloured sedan.
The intersection is closed with residents being urged to take alternate routes around the area, said police.
