Egypt jumped to the top of the Group G table with a 3-1 win in Vancouver on Sunday evening, June 21.
New Zealand managed to score once at BC Place Stadium, filled with 52,497 fans who watched Egypt score their first FIFA World Cup victory since making their debut 92 years ago.
Key stat: This was the first time Egypt had ever gone in behind at half-time in a World Cup fixture.

Sunday in Atlanta, Spain scored a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia.
Belgium and Iran were both held scoreless in Los Angeles, and Uruguay and Cabo Verde both scored two in Miami for the second draw of the day.
Four more games are on Monday’s schedule including Argentina vs. Austria in Dallas (10 a.m. start Pacific time), France vs. Iraq in Philadelphia (2 p.m.), Norway vs. Senegal in New York (5 p.m.) and Algeria vs. Jordan in San Francisco (8 p.m.)
