Amit Shah Hails India’s Rise From Fragile Five To Top Five, Politics Of Performance Since 2014

Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted what he described as a major transformation in Indian politics since 2014, saying the country has moved from corruption, casteism and dynastic politics towards a “politics of performance.” Shah said India’s defence and foreign policy are guided by the principle of “India First” and highlighted the country’s shift from the “Fragile Five” to the world’s top five economies. He also cited 7.8% GDP growth, greater recognition for Indian languages and a stronger response to terrorism. Shah highlighted Article 370, Naxalism and the Northeast as long-standing internal security challenges that, according to him, have been addressed in recent years.
