'Business Clinic' initiative launched to support startups
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has launched a new "Business Clinic" mechanism aiming at helping startups overcome operational and regulatory challenges through direct coordination with government agencies.
The initiative, introduced by the Egyptian entrepreneurship and innovation center in cooperation with the ministries of finance, investment, trade and industry, is designed to provide entrepreneurs with a direct communication channel to address obstacles facing their businesses.
Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom said the mechanism reflects the government's commitment to supporting startups as a key driver of economic growth and job creation, while facilitating procedures that help businesses expand and thrive.
Heba Zaki, director of the center, described the Business Clinic as an interactive platform enabling entrepreneurs to present challenges directly to relevant government entities and receive guidance and support. She said the meetings will be held regularly to address issues related to licensing, taxation, business establishment and expansion.
The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to strengthen Egypt's startup ecosystem, improve the investment climate and support innovation in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
