Calgary police investigate 3 shootings in 24 hours

Calgary police are investigating three separate shootings reported in different parts of the city during a 24-hour period.

The shootings happened in the southeast and southwest quadrants, and while no suspects are in custody yet, police say there is no risk to the public after the incidents.

The first incident was reported Friday at around 5:50 a.m. when a man with gunshot wounds approached a home in the 1200 block of 44 Street S.E. looking for help.

It's believed he had been shot in a nearby home, which he had been seen exiting with a man and a woman who fled the area before police got there.

The man is in stable condition.

That night, another shooting was reported at about 10:55 p.m. after a man was found with gunshot wounds in the 1300 block of 14 Avenue S.W.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition. He's now in stable condition, but with life-altering injuries.

Police found out a second person had been injured by what appeared to be gunshots as well, with that person believed to have been driven away from the area before police got there.

That person was taken to hospital and determined to be in stable condition with life-altering injuries.

The driver of the car was arrested on warrants unrelated to the incident. Nobody has been taken into custody in connection to the shooting.

On Saturday at about 2:40 a.m., police say a man was found with gunshot wounds under a bridge in the 400 block of 5 Avenue S.E.

Police believe he had been approached by two unknown men who demanded his belongings, before shooting him during a physical altercation.

The man was taken to hospital in stable condition with minor injuries.

The two unknown men fled the scene and haven't been taken into custody.
