Calls to scrap northern food subsidy program
Living in Canada's north means the cost of things like basic groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables is exceptionally high. A federal program, Nutrition North, has been in place since 2011 to help subsidize those costs. But now, the group representing Inuit people, says the $145 million program has not improved food security and should be scrapped.
