Canada Immigration Processing Times Updated
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently updated its latest processing times due to changes in Canada immigration applications. These figures reflect changes in August 2025 and are therefore crucial for those interested in apply for permanent residency, citizenship, or temporary visas in Canada.
IRCC continues to apply advanced analytics, introduced in 2022, in order to tackle extremely high volumes of applications more efficiently. The objective, nevertheless, remains the processing of 80% of complete applications within the published timelines, despite the increasing application demand.
Canada Visa Processing times for PR cards and temporary visas are being updated weekly, whereas citizenship and family sponsorship processing times are updated monthly.

Canadian passports processing times: 10 business daysOutside Canada and the United States: 20 business days
Insight: The longest waits are seen in the business and self-employed categories due to strict eligibility checks.
