Caravan park evacuated as fire breaks out

A large fire has broken out at a caravan park with a large plume of smoke visible from around surrounding countryside.

Thames Valley Police said the blaze broke out at Oaks Caravan Park, Fyfield Wick, near Abingdon.

Residents were evacuated from the park and taken to Kingston Colts Football Club. People living nearby have been urged to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution.

Police said road closures are in place on Faringdon Road, the A415 Kingston Road, A338 and Digging Lane.
