Free summer travel for children and young people
Young people will have the opportunity to travel free on some Berkshire bus services this summer.
The national Great British Summer Savings scheme means some children, aged between five and 15, will not have to pay on local services throughout August.
The government initiative is aimed at helping families have days out and make the most of the school holidays while keeping costs down.
West Berkshire Council cabinet member Stuart Gourley said: "We know the summer holidays can be an expensive time for families."

In the district, Thames Travel, Stagecoach, Reading Buses and Newbury and District Buses are taking part, and will offer free travel to eligible children.
The council said the scheme had made it "easier and more affordable" for families to get out and explore the district.
It said the scheme had also supported local businesses and attractions by encouraging people to spend time in town centres and communities across West Berkshire.
Gourley added: "Buses provide an affordable and sustainable way to travel, helping to reduce traffic and making it easier for people to access everything our district has to offer."
The council encouraged families to check with their bus operator before travelling to confirm participating services, local arrangements and the latest timetables.
