Frost alert issued for Hamilton, Brantford, St. Catharines and Niagara
Environment Canada warns near-freezing temperatures across parts of the region Monday night into early Tuesday
Colder temperatures are set to bring the first frost of the season to Hamilton, Brantford, St. Catharines and the Niagara region starting Monday night.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow frost advisory that said temperatures are expected to fall to near or below the freezing mark overnight and into early Tuesday morning.
The frost advisory covers most of southern Ontario, including Windsor in the west and stretching east to Ottawa.
Cold temperatures could damage plants, trees and crops, particularly those that are sensitive to frost, the federal weather agency said.
Residents are advised to take preventative measures, including covering plants in frost-prone areas.
Environment Canada is urging residents to continue monitoring weather alerts and forecasts.
