Head of Asian Games organizing committee offers apology

The head of the Asian Games organizing committee has offered an apology over a series of logistical mishaps in the event's operations.

The committee's Secretary General Murate Satoshi told reporters on Saturday that none of the reported troubles had impacted the sporting events themselves. He said that the organizers are making efforts to find the causes of the problems and improve the situation.

Citing a specific preventive measure, he told reporters that the committee had changed the way it manages data of the national anthems played before competitions and at occasions such as award ceremonies. He also said that multiple officials are conducting thorough checks to prevent mistakes.

Regarding bus transportation services for athletes to travel to and from event venues, he said the committee is notifying individual teams again about the reservation rules and asking for their needs.
