Hyundai Motor Group Spins Off Three In
Hyundai Motor Group has spun off three startups it nurtured through its in-house startup development program into independent companies.
The group said on the 11th that it had spun off three companies — PositiveFlo, WearBee and Jarvis — that were developed through the ZER01NE Company Builder. With the latest move, the number of in-house startups that have become independent from Hyundai Motor Group has risen to 44.
PositiveFlo develops a smart mattress system that uses AI sensors to detect sleep patterns and automatically adjust temperature and humidity. WearBee provides safety technology that helps prevent collision accidents by identifying the locations of workers and industrial vehicles based on high-precision position sensors.
Jarvis is a startup that supports standard tools and coding automation programs needed for vehicle software development. It focuses on improving software development efficiency for auto parts suppliers during the transition to SDV.
Hyundai Motor Group has operated the ZER01NE Company Builder since 2021 and provides up to 300 million won in development funding to selected startups. Noh Gyu-seung, executive director at the ZER01NE Office, Future Strategy Division at Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, said, "We will continue to foster innovative and creative startups across a wide range of fields through active open innovation."
