It wasn’t the result Canadian fans hoped for on Wednesday, but thousands still showed up to support their team.
Crowds of people packed downtown Vancouver as Canadian and Swiss fans marched to BC Place ahead of the noon kickoff.
People in the crowd said the atmosphere was electric, people were happy and it was exciting to see Vancouver in a sea of red.
Thousands more people gathered at watch parties across the city.
