Innovation Victoria takes off
Innovation Victoria, the result of the amalgamation of LaunchVic and Breakthrough Victoria, will offer tailored programs, expert advice, and investment at every stage of growth.
The organisation will be led by CEO Rod Bristow and backed by chair Geoff Tarrant and deputy chair Monique Conheady.
According to the government, Melbourne’s startup creation rate has reached 124% in recent times.
Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Steve Dimopoulos said that with the right backing, Victoria was open for business.
“We’ve backed startups, attracted investment, and grown the number of Victorian startups nearly 20-fold,” Dimopoulos said, referring to the gains to the local sector that the now consolidated LaunchVic has been credited for.
