Kilian Kaminski, refurbed co-founder, joins the EU-Startups Summit 2027

We are excited to announce that Kilian Kaminski, co-founder of refurbed, will take the main stage at the EU-Startups Summit 2027, taking place on May 13-14 in sunny Malta! Kilian will deliver a keynote titled Fixing the future: How sustainable entrepreneurship can change the world and be profitable.

Drawing on his experience building and scaling refurbed, Kilian will explore how entrepreneurs can create businesses that combine commercial success with measurable environmental impact.

His keynote will look at the potential of circular business models, why sustainability and profitability do not have to be competing priorities, and what founders can learn from turning a mission-driven idea into a fast-growing European company.

Kilian is one of the three founders behind refurbed, the Vienna-based marketplace that is helping reshape how Europeans think about buying electronics and other consumer goods. Founded in 2017, refurbed has grown into one of Europe’s leading platforms for refurbished products, giving devices a second life while offering consumers a more affordable and sustainable alternative to buying new.

refurbed itself has raised over €160 million in total funding – the latest being a €50 million extension to Series C in 2025. As of today, the company employs almost 300 employees across 24 countries since its initial launch in Germany. With 65.000+ products available on its platform, refurbed is quickly becoming the staple source for refurbished electronics in Europe.

Before starting refurbed, Kilian worked at Amazon Germany, where he served as Head of the Amazon Certified Refurbished Program and as New Key Account Manager for some of the company’s largest electronics retail partners. He studied Communication and Business Administration in Hamburg, Shanghai, and London before turning his experience in the electronics industry towards entrepreneurship and the circular economy.

Beyond refurbed, Kilian is actively involved in shaping the future of the refurbishment industry. He is a board member of the European Refurbishment Association and regularly speaks about the regulatory foundations of the electronics industry, the opportunities presented by the circular economy, and his mission to establish refurbishment as a third major consumption category alongside “new” and “used”.
