Lionsgate, Miércoles Entertainment Ink International TV Distribution Deal for Spanish
Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group and Miércoles Entertainment, the newly launched company from Paul Presburger and the team behind Lionsgate’s Pantelion and Pantaya ventures, June 25 announced a partnership for the international distribution of the Spanish-language movie Belleza, a female-driven multigenerational dramedy starring Maite Perroni and Fernanda Castillo.
Additional cast includes Claudette Maille, Diego Klein, Arap Bethke, Antonia Giraldo, Johanna Murillo, Sabina Furuzawa, Sebastián García Huerta, Mónica Dionne and Arturo Ríos.
Lionsgate will distribute the film across international television platforms outside the United States, including subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), cable, AVOD, FAST services, and Lionsgate’s owned and operated global channels.
The collaboration marks the first title in a new slate of films from Miércoles to be distributed by Lionsgate in the international TV marketplace, including additional titles to be developed in collaboration with BH5 and Secuoya Studios.
Directed by Nadia Ayala Tabachnik, Belleza is produced by Rodrigo Trujillo of BH5 Studios and Secuoya Studios and was brought to the parties by the production and distribution consortium Globalgate, in which Lionsgate is partnered. The film will be theatrically released by Cinepolis who has also invested in the movie.
“We’re excited to partner with Paul and the Miércoles team to bring Belleza to global audiences,” said Tyler Caldwell, SVP of international television distribution at Lionsgate. “With its compelling, character-driven storytelling and strong audience appeal, the film is well positioned to resonate across multiple platforms internationally, and we look forward to building on this collaboration with future projects.”
Presburger is a veteran global media executive and entrepreneur with a 25-year relationship with Lionsgate through Pantelion Films, the former Lionsgate/Televisa joint venture focused on Spanish-language films, the streaming platform Pantaya, and the global IP consortium Globalgate.
