Man dies after being stabbed in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough
Female suspect arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing
A 44 year-old man is dead following a daytime stabbing near Montreal's Chinatown Monday morning.
Police responded to the area of de Bullion and de la Gauchetière streets in the Ville-Marie borough around 11 a.m.
Witnesses told police a woman stabbed the man following an altercation.
The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later died of his injuries.
According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the 39-year-old female suspect fled the area after the attack, but was later arrested near the scene.
The woman is expected to appear in Quebec Court on Tuesday.
Montreal police says this is the 12th murder to occur in their jurisdiction in 2026.
