Micron Technology Stock Is Falling Monday: What's Going On?
Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) stock fell about 3% in Monday’s premarket session as investors took profits after the stock’s recent rebound and focused on its technical setup. Nasdaq futures rose 0.36%, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.50%.
The chipmaker has posted strong gains over the past year. That rally has left the stock vulnerable to profit-taking as momentum cools.
The contrast between Micron’s weakness and stronger index futures suggests traders are reassessing the stock near key technical levels instead of aggressively buying the dip.

Micron remains under pressure in the near term.
The stock is trading 12.1% below its 20-day simple moving average of $911.69 and 17.0% below its 50-day simple moving average of $964.85. That keeps the intermediate trend pointed lower.

The 20-day moving average remains below the 50-day moving average, a bearish signal that reflects recent selling pressure. At the same time, the 50-day moving average remains above the 200-day moving average, indicating the broader uptrend is still intact.
Momentum indicators also point to caution. The MACD remains below its signal line, while the histogram is negative, showing that bullish momentum has weakened.
