Montreal police ask for public's help in locating sexual offender

The 66-year-old high-risk offender is under Correctional Service Canada supervision

Montreal police are asking for the public's help in locating Chistopher Watts — a 66-year-old sex offender who is currently at large.

In a news release, Montreal police said Watts was in the Montreal area at the time he violated the conditions of his Correctional Service Canada (CSC) supervision.

The Montreal police sex offender surveillance team has been tasked with assisting CSC in its investigation.

Watts is described as a white male, is six feet one inch tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say that at the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hat, prescription glasses, a dark short-sleeved shirt, grey pants and dark shoes.

"He may be in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada," police said.

The Ontario man was convicted in the 2001 drug-overdose death of 13-year-old Amanda Raymond and served his entire 12-year prison sentence for manslaughter, sexual assault and sexual interference, after which he had to be released.

The high-risk offender has been in and out of detention over the years and is on a long-term supervision order.

Anyone with information that could help locate Watts should go to their local police station or call 911.
