National AI Appreciation Day: Advocate urges workers to embrace artificial intelligence
(WBNG) -- Artificial intelligence has moved from science fiction into nearly every facet of daily life — and Thursday marks National AI Appreciation Day.
According to a 2025 study from Pew Research, about 1 in 5 American workers use AI in their jobs, while 65% say they don’t use it much — or at all.
Attorney, entrepreneur and AI advocate Sean Callagy said he understands public concerns about artificial intelligence displacing workers, but said the best approach is to work alongside it rather than against it.
“As I said, a surfer, if I get caught in a rip current and try to swim against a rip current, I will eventually die,” Callagy said. “Instead, what if you go with the current and then find your way through and around it? That’s how to function with AI. Dance with it. Do not fight it. And you can not only save your job, you can increase your income.”
While advocating for AI adoption, Callagy said he also believes AI companies should be held accountable for environmental impacts. He said people should learn how to use the technology responsibly and understand its limitations.
