Florida has enacted a new anti-terrorism law aimed at cutting off state support for designated terrorist organizations. Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 1471, which took effect on July 1, allowing Florida to legally designate both domestic and foreign groups as terrorist organizations. Under the law, designated groups are barred from receiving public funds, state contracts, grants, or other forms of material support from the state. As part of the implementation of the new law, Governor DeSantis announced that Antifa has been designated as a domestic terrorist organization in Florida.
