At least 15 Indian tourists were killed after a speedboat carrying 36 people capsized off Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island on Saturday. According to the Indian Embassy in Hanoi, the victims include 10 people from Tamil Nadu, three from Andhra Pradesh and two from Kerala. The vessel overturned around 400 metres off Hon May Rut Ngoai while travelling to An Thoi Port. Rescue teams recovered all 36 people on board, with 21 surviving the accident. Vietnamese authorities suspect rough sea conditions and a possible mechanical malfunction, though the exact cause remains under investigation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the tragedy, while the Indian Embassy and Consulate said they are providing all possible assistance to the victims and their families.
