Novastar Partners invests in AJVC to back pre

Novastar Partners, an India-focused private markets investment platform, has invested an undisclosed amount in A Junior VC (AJVC), an early-stage venture capital fund founded by Aviral Bhatnagar.

The investment is aimed at helping Novastar build a diversified portfolio of high-quality funds and businesses across India’s private markets, with a focus on technology and tech-enabled businesses.

According to Novastar, the investment will support AJVC’s continued deployment across India’s pre-seed ecosystem as the fund builds a platform for early-stage companies. It will also give Novastar exposure to companies at their earliest stages across sectors such as artificial intelligence, healthcare, deeptech, consumer technology and brands.

With a corpus of around Rs 165 crore, AJVC has backed more than 35 companies and plans to invest in over 85 companies over the fund’s life.

Novastar Partners was founded by Dhruv Jhunjhunwala and focuses on investing in India’s private markets. The firm invests in leading private equity and venture capital funds, alongside selective direct investments in private companies, particularly in technology and tech-enabled businesses.

AJVC is an early-stage VC fund focused on pre-seed investments in India. The fund claims to have developed a programmatic, technology-driven approach to supporting startups from their inception.
